Today I'm going to share a little about apps to watch Carnival in Brazil, whether in person or online.
If you, like me, like to watch parades and street parties without spending a lot, there are several options.
I'll tell you about the best apps, social networks and places where you can enjoy the party live.
How to watch Carnival for free on your cell phone
Before talking about the best places to enjoy Carnival, I'll start with the online options.
I've already tested several apps and platforms that promised to broadcast the parades, but many were full of pranks.
After testing and researching, I found a few options that actually work.
Globoplay
It was a very good option.
Globo broadcasts the parades of the samba schools of Rio and São Paulo, and the app allows you to watch everything live without needing to subscribe.
I just had to create a free account, and that was it! Plus, they show interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and even recaps for those who missed a presentation.
YouTube
YouTube always saves the day! Many official channels broadcast the parades and street parties live.
I liked this option because in addition to the images being good, you can also see the public's reaction and feel the energy of Carnival.
Several blocks from São Paulo, Salvador and Recife were broadcast on city hall and influencer channels.
BandPlay
Another app that surprised me was BandPlay.
It broadcasts several Carnival events in real time and, unlike some paid apps, does not require a subscription to watch live content.
I used it a lot to follow street parties and interviews with artists.
PlutoTV
That was an interesting find.
Pluto TV has some channels that broadcast live events, and Carnival was no different.
In addition, there were special programs and documentaries about the festival.
It was a great option for those who wanted to understand more about carnival culture.
How to watch Carnival on social media
In recent years, social media has been a great way to watch Carnival without needing specific apps.
Here are the two I used the most:
Instagram was one of the best places to follow street parties and behind-the-scenes footage of Carnival.
Many influencers and official event profiles broadcast live from the party.
Furthermore, through Stories I was able to see the most memorable moments of the day and even follow the coverage of journalists who were at the parades.
On Facebook, many city hall pages and block organizers broadcast Carnival live.
In several groups, people shared links to free live streams, so it was easy to find where to watch without paying anything.
Plus, the videos are saved, so you can watch them later if you missed something.
Time to choose
Whether watching on your cell phone, on social media or attending in person, Brazilian Carnival is a unique experience.
If you can't travel, apps and social networks guarantee quality streaming without having to pay.
But, if you have the chance to go to one of the live carnivals, it is definitely worth it to feel all this contagious energy up close.
